Volunteer Requirements Policy

As a volunteer run swim club, The Elk Valley Dolphins Swim Club relies on parent and athlete volunteers to run our club, host our meets, and meet critical fundraising goals for the season.

There will be a volunteer points deposit due for each competitive swimmer each season. This deposit will be refunded/credited at the end of the season if all volunteer points requirements were met by the swimmer and their family. 

We count on our Pre-Competitive (Pups) families to volunteer during the season; since they frequently move to other Pods mid-season, they are exempt from the Volunteer Points Deposit. 

Multi-Swimmer Household 
The maximum number of swimmers that will count toward volunteer points requirements is 2 per household. 

The maximum total points required is 50 points per household. 

The maximum volunteer points deposit is $500 per household.

Officials Training Requirements
As a competitive swim club we require parents to be trained in various officiating roles to be able to host our home meets, time trials and race nights throughout the season. 

Training sessions will be held regularly to ensure all families have the opportunity to meet this requirement.

Payment 
Deposits may be paid at the time of registration or by post-dated cheque (dated June 1 of the following year). 

End of Season Refunds / Credits 
At the end of each season if all volunteer points requirements have been met, the volunteer deposit will be credited to family accounts and applied to the following season’s registration. 

A refund may be requested in writing by emailing manager@evdsc.com.
