We know this is the first away meet opportunity for many of you and there will be a lot of questions and a steep learning curve. There are some great resources on our website in the parents section, a compilation of swimming terms and a first timers guide to swim meets. If after reviewing these pages, you still have questions. Please feel free to reach out at any time.

Some considerations.

The Killarney Short Course Invitational is held at Repsol Sport Centre in Calgary. This is a large facility and will be run in two 25m pools simultaneously. This is a big meet and is loud and energetic and FUN, but it can be intimidating for some new swimmers. There will be loads of coaching support on deck for newer swimmers as well as mentoring by the more senior swimmers.

If after our home meet, you feel like your swimmer is not ready for an "away" meet of this size, please email manager@evdsc.com or coachfrank@evdsc.com to scratch from the meet prior to the scratch deadline above. All meet fees will be refunded for scratches made prior to the deadline. (There will be smaller meets coming up in the new year.)

Facility Access Requirements:

Repsol Sport Centre has adopted the Restriction Exemption Program (REP) for COVID-19. This swim meet will adhere to the REP requirements and all athletes, volunteers, spectators, and officials will need to show proof of vaccination, negative test, or exemption as well as identification to enter the facility. Access to the facility will utilize the north doors and will be manned throughout the duration of the swim meet.

Please be patient as priority access will be given to swimmers, coaches, and officiating staff for entry ‘check-in’ process.

KSC requires proof of full vaccination, negative test result, or medical exemption for all individuals age 12 and older AND has full control over entry to the facility. KSC will also permit swimmers age 11 with proof of double vaccination. The negative test result must have been taken no more than 72 hours before entry to ­every session.
